This and the fact that it is host to about 4 million foreign visitors each year, creates the unique opportunity to be a place of encounter between people of different cultures from all over the world.

Using this potential Florence can become a leading center promoting communication between nations and a stepping stone towards a more understanding and peaceful society.

The location that has been chosen to host the “Peace Center” is LA MULINA in the Cascine Park, which is a recreational area located just outside the Old City and in close proximity to major train stations and the airport.

When projecting the Peace Center the intention was to create a place that will not only be visited by foreign visitors but is also attractive as a recreational center to the locals, increasing the number of regular visitors and thus promoting interaction.
